ABOUT VOICE OF THE LINE

I’ve spent the last 40 years in manufacturing.

I’ve seen a lot change over the years — technology, tools, metrics — but one thing that hasn’t changed nearly enough is how people are treated on the shop floor.

One moment still sticks with me: I reported a manager for creating a hostile work environment through the official hotline. The very next day, I was called into his office and questioned about it. No protection. No privacy. Just a target on my back.

From that day forward, I was known as “the whistleblower.” I wasn’t congratulated for doing the right thing. I was shunned — not just by management, but by coworkers too. The system made sure I felt the consequences of speaking up.

And sadly, I’m not alone. I’ve seen the same pattern play out in other plants.
I’ve watched family members get written up, harassed, and boxed into dead-end positions until they finally gave up and moved to another job just to breathe again.

That’s why I started Voice of the Line.

This isn’t just a blog. It’s an outlet — a place where workers can share their stories anonymously and safely. A place where you’re not afraid to speak because someone might be watching. Here, you’re not alone. You’re not invisible. And you’re definitely not crazy.

Whether you’ve been targeted, silenced, or just sick of the hypocrisy, this is your space.

I want every reader to feel like they have a voice again — and that there are ways to tell the truth without self-incrimination. You deserve to be heard. You deserve to know you’re not alone.
